{"id":60,"date":"2023-06-11T19:09:31","date_gmt":"2023-06-11T19:09:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/eshrat.cmanda.ca\/?p=60"},"modified":"2023-06-29T18:44:54","modified_gmt":"2023-06-30T01:44:54","slug":"spark","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eshrat.cmanda.ca\/index.php\/2023\/06\/11\/spark\/","title":{"rendered":"Spark"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>During my tenure at TransLink, I was part of the team assigned to replace their legacy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool with a modern web-based system.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Upon joining the team and reviewing the deliverables, I realized that the deliverables overlooked the internal company processes and how TransLink would get impacted by the new ERP system. &nbsp;Recognizing this issue, I realized that the System Integrator (SI) had assumed that TransLink business operations and employees will easily adapt to match the out-of-the-box generic functionality offered by the system. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Given that the team had already completed the first stage of the project, I thoroughly analyzed this issue and suggested the following foundational elements for a course correction: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Business Process Architecture and Strategy:<\/strong><strong> that outlines how TransLink\u2019s organizational structure and processes must align with the new application.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Business Process Architect:<\/strong><strong> a dedicated team member who possessed a comprehensive understanding of how the application can be configured to work with business decisions and processes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>To incorporate these foundational elements into an already in-motion program execution, I articulated and presented my suggestions to all levels in the program spanning multiple projects to obtain buy-in. &nbsp;After I obtained the buy-in from the project teams, I then presented my suggestion to the Executive Steering Committee and obtained a final approval for a change in execution strategy to be driven down from the&nbsp; top-level.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Despite not being an expert in supply chain or finance, I realized that my foundational knowledge from my undergraduate degree, diplomas, certificates, and work experience provided me with the skills to guide experts in decision making, solutioning, and executing to meet TransLink\u2019s objectives.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The experience transformed me into a hands-on leader who thrives on imparting business process skills and knowledge to my team.&nbsp; I gained insight on the importance of critically thinking about the execution strategy and validating its alignment with the business objectives.&nbsp; By working with senior leadership and peers, I learned how to present facts and analysis to guide decision-making in a logical and collaborative manner.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During my tenure at TransLink, I was part of the team assigned to replace their legacy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool with a modern web-based system.&nbsp; Upon joining the team and reviewing the deliverables, I realized that the deliverables overlooked the internal company processes and how TransLink would get impacted by the new ERP system.
